Shooting at sunset has really been giving me a hard on lately...There's just something about the faceless beauty in it. My editor at Surfer told me from the beginning that I needed to go for that timeless look.."Try to make photos that someone sixty years from now could look at and say, 'damn I wish I was there.'" JP always pushed the idea of creating timeless images like Ron Stoner did, and I dig that. Hardcore. Surfing is changing. Everyday. But the roots from which it came aren't. The connection between the rider, the board, and the water will never change. That shit is the essence of surfing..and I want to capture it.
The photos below are of my buddy and fellow photographer Geoff Glenn. This guy is the primo example of a true surfer/artist, and his style radiates it. The man can shoot, ride, and paint some of the sickest waves around and I'm stoked every time I get out in the water with him.

Finally back on the blog grind.
I've taken my sweet time putting up a blog for a while now..partially because there wasnt a huge need for it up until now, but mainly because I fucking hated trying to fix the layout so it would show my work the way I wanted it to be shown.
Well, it's ::almost:: time to rejoice. Looks like I've found a layout that will work, so now it's time to start tossing up some SWEET content. Get ready for me to drop my balls all over this blog. Literally.
Get ready for a great ride.
Love,

Sunrise to sunset
A few weeks ago a 'huge' swell came in and I couldn't resist waking up at 5:00am to chase it all around southern California. I stated off at Salt Creek for a little sunrise loving and then made my way down to Wind and Sea down in San Diego for a serious surf session...waves were peeking at 12-14'..it was OUT OF CONTROL. After about four hours in the water my buddy mike and I went out to a bar for a quick taco and brewski and then made our way back up to San Clemente, stopping in Carlsbad and a few other spots on the way. Hope you enjoy.
